Number of Awards & Eligibility: The number of awards offered varies annually. *Please note: The number of recipients for this program varies according to the number of students meeting the eligibility requirements in any give year.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  3. Must be a resident of Hardee, Highlands, or De Soto counties, Florida.
  4. Must attend or plan to attend South Florida Community College.
  5. Must be a full-time student.
  6. Must be a high school senior or college freshman at the time of application.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This award is available to U.S. students enrolled or planning to enroll full time in a degree or certificate program at South Florida Community College. The applicant must be a permanent resident of one of the following Florida counties: DeSoto, Highlands, or Hardee. Preference will be given to students who are citrus majors, students who show academic potential and students with unmet financial need.

Additional Information: *Please note: Preference will be given to students who are majoring in citrus, students with academic potential, or students with financial need. While the criteria for each scholarship varies, preference is usually given to students with 'B' averages or higher. All South Florida Community College scholarship recipients are required to reapply every academic year, as well as maintain the specified required grade point average.

Award Amount: The monetary award amount varies according to the applicant's financial need.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $5,000.
