Number of Awards & Eligibility: The number of awards offered varies annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must have completed 24 or more undergraduate credit hours.
  3. Must plan to transfer to Southeast Missouri State University.
  4. Must be currently attending an eligible Missouri community college.
  5. Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
  6. Must have a grade point average of 3.5 or higher.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: U.S. college students who have earned 24 or more credit hours at a community college and are planning to attend Southeast Missouri State University are eligible for this award. Students must have a grade point average of 3.5 or higher and be nominated.

Application requirements for the SMSU Outstanding Community College Scholarship are:

Additional Information: This award may not be combined with the Community College or Phi Theta Kappa Scholarships.

Award Amount: $3,000 annually, renewable for a second year as long as the student maintains a grade point average of 3.5 cumulative grade point average in courses taken at Southeast and earns 30 credit hours per academic year at Southeast. Southeast summer hours taken in the same academic year may be used to meet renewal criteria. The award may not be combined with any other scholarships.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $6,000.

Additional information is available online from the Southeast Missouri State University website. A student must be nominated by his/her community college president. Nominations must be postmarked by the deadline date.
