Additional Information: While this award is primarily based on financial need, merit factors including academic work, extracurricular activities, community and volunteer activities, and work experience are also taken into consideration. Please note: In any given year, the committee may be more interested in young men than young women because of a required equity of awards between genders. The scholarship committee will use the student's SAR and financial aid package information to determine if there are any gaps between the cost of education and the resources available. The first priority is to fill any need gap in an individual's package. After that, depending on college policy, the selection committee may make awards to reduce student loans or college work-study (self-help). In accordance with federal policy, Levy awards cannot be made to reduce the expected family contribution. Applicants will be notified of their status by the end of June.

Award Amount: There is no set amount for an award. Individual awards may be up to $13,670 annually (the cost of in-state tuition at the University of New Hampshire). Each award is individually determined and depends on each candidate's unique circumstances. Awards will be paid in two equal installments for the first and second semester. Checks are made co-payable to the student and to the institution. Students may renew their awards for up to three additional years for as long as they remain enrolled at least half-time in an undergraduate program. Please note: If a student leaves school early for any reason, the unused portion of the award must be returned to the Levy Scholarship Fund.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $12,424.
