Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
  3. Must be a graduating high school senior to apply for this freshman year award.
  4. Must attend Amarillo College OR West Texas A&M University.
  5. Must exhibit community service and leadership.
  6. Preference will be given to Native Americans.
  7. Must be employed.
  8. Must be a resident of one of the 26 northernmost counties of the Texas panhandle.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: Graduating high school seniors who reside in the 26 northernmost counties of the Texas Panhandle and are currently employed are eligible for this award. Preference will be given to Native Americans.

Application requirements for the Dr. Charles and Phyllis Seward Scholarship are:

  • Recommendation letter
  • Application form
  • Official Transcript
  • IRS 1040 Form
  • ACT/SAT scores
Additional Information: The recipient must maintain a grade point average of 2.5 or higher while in college.

Award Amount: $1,000 annually, renewable for up to three additional years if the previous recipient reapplies.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,000.
