In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for international and U.S. students.
  2. Must attend or plan to attend a four-year college or university.
  3. Must possess an active amateur radio license (any class).
  4. Must be a resident of Gwinnett County (GA) OR the state of Georgia.

Description: This scholarship is open to international and U.S. students who attend four-year colleges/universities and possess an active amateur radio license (any class). Students must reside in Gwinnett County, GA, or the state of Georgia.

Additional Information: The Gwinnett Amateur Radio Society Scholarship is provided annually to a student in Georgia who has an active amateur radio license (any class). Additional preference will be given to students who reside in Gwinnett County. Recipients are typically notified by mid-May by USPS mail and email.

Award Amount: $1,000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,000.

Applications are available on the American Radio Relay League (ARRL) Foundation website. Applications must be completed online. Students need only submit one application for all scholarships for which they are eligible. The student must provide contact information for one educational reference, one character reference, and one social reference on the online application. The student must also submit a copy of his/her academic transcript from his/her most recently completed school year to the email address provided. The transcript must be scanned and submitted as a PDF.
