Description: The Horton-Schultz-Seiders Scholarship for Taylor High School is available for graduating high school seniors in Taylor, TX. Applications will be evaluated on academic achievement, community involvement, and demonstration of an enterprising spirit.

Additional Information: The Horton-Schultz-Seiders Scholarship for Taylor High School is provided annually in memory of the life and work of Alice Sophia Seiders Schultz, Robert Albert Schultz and their daughter Hattie Grace Schultz Horton. As long time residents of Taylor Texas, these individuals worked selflessly to advance the community and promote religious, cultural, and educational advancement within the region. In turn, a scholarship will be provided to a graduating high school senior in the city who also exemplifies these values. This scholarship is administered and managed through the Austin Community Foundation. Founded in 1977, the Austin Community Foundation has expanded to combine philanthropists, community leaders, and advanced financial management technologies. The foundation works to identify and assist the local populations in greatest need through a combination of scholarships, local initiatives, and grants. Award Amount: The award amount varies annually. Typical scholarship awards are approximately $1,000 annually and are non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,000.

For this scholarship, the following is required: copies of standardized test scores; a list of all awards and academic honors; a list of extracurricular activities including clubs, athletics, and other campus activities; a list of other hobbies, interests, and talents; a resume detailing the applicant's work history; and an essay describing the applicant's career plans and goals. All applications and supporting documents must be submitted online by the deadline date. Any late or incomplete submissions will not be considered.
