Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  3. Must be a graduating high school senior.
  4. Must be enrolled or accepted into an aviation-related program at an accredited college or university and be able to demonstrate an interest in pursuing a career in general aviation.
  5. Must enroll full time.

Description: U.S. graduating high school seniors who plan to pursue an aviation-related program at an accredited college or university are eligible for this award. Students must demonstrate an interest in pursuing a career in general aviation.

Application requirements for the Navigate Your Future Scholarship are:

  • Recommendation letter
  • Application form
  • Personal statement
  • Official Transcript
  • Letter of acceptance
Additional Information: Recipients are selected by the scholarship selection committee on the basis of academic record, recommendation letter, and a statement of educational and career goals. Recipients are selected without regard to race, color, creed, religion, gender, disability or national origin. Recipients will be notified in writing by the end of July and all other applicants will be notified in writing by mid-August.

Award Amount: $2,500 annually, non-renewable. Previous recipients may not reapply.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $2,500.

Applications are available online from the National Air Transportation Foundation (NATF) website. In addition to the completed application, the student must submit the following supporting documents: a letter of acceptance from the college/university he/she plans to attend; one letter of recommendation; a personal statement discussing the topics listed within the application; and an original, certified high school transcript showing his/her high school class rank. An original and three copies of the completed application packet must be submitted online by the last Friday in June.
