Number of Awards & Eligibility: The number of awards offered varies annually and is dependent on funding.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for international students.
  2. Must be a full-time student.
  3. Must be a high school senior to apply for this freshman year award.
  4. Must attend St. Olaf College in Minnesota.

Description: International students who are high school seniors planning to enroll full time at St. Olaf College in Minnesota are eligible for this award. There is not a separate application; each student is considered upon admission.

  • Application form
  • Official Transcript
  • Recommendation letters (2)
  • CSS Profile
Additional Information: Scholarships will be offered to students who show financial need and exemplary achievement in their academic studies, as well as participation outside of the classroom.

Award Amount: St. Olaf offers no full scholarships, and typically assistance is limited to half of the tuition for international students. Last year, grants ranged from $5,000 to $46,950 annually, renewable for up to three additional years.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $15,000.

There is not a separate application for this award. Each student applying for admission to St. Olaf College is considered as a possible recipient for the award. If a student wishes to be considered based on need, he/she must submit a completed CSS Profile by Feb. 1. While it is encouraged that the student submit the CSS Profile if possible, he/she may submit the International Student Financial Aid Application instead. In addition to the completed admissions applications (the Common Application and Supplement), each student must submit a $40 US application fee (will be waived if the student applies online), official secondary transcripts, official transcripts from all college or universities attended (if applicable), English translation of transcripts (if applicable), official external examination results or diploma, two academic references or recommendations, TOEFL exam scores, SAT/ACT scores, and the 'International Student Certification of Finances Form' (required for the issuance of a student visa). A completed admissions application with supporting materials must be completed by Jan. 15.
