Number of Awards & Eligibility: The number of awards offered varies annually based on the number of qualified applicants and funding available.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for international and U.S. students.
  2. Must be a high school senior at time of application.
  3. Must enroll at Stevenson University in Maryland.
  4. Must demonstrate academic achievement. SU considers the rigor of a student's high school curriculum in addition to his/her academic grade point average, class rank, and standardized test scores.
  5. Must attend a college or university in Maryland.

Description: International and U.S. high school seniors who are planning to enroll at Stevenson University are eligible for this award. Students must demonstrate academic achievement.

Application requirements for the Stevenson University Merit-Based Scholarship Program are:

Additional Information: SU offers five levels of merit-based awards to select highly-qualified students. When awarding scholarships, SU considers the rigor of a student's high school curriculum in addition to his/her academic grade point average and standardized test scores. If the applicant qualifies for an award in more than one category, the acholarship committee will grant him/her the highest single award for which he/she is eligible. These scholarships are not based on financial need.

Award Amount: High School GPA based on a 4.0 weighted scale/unweighted academic scale.All merit-based awards are good for four consecutive years of study at the university, provided the student maintains the minimum required GPA (2.5 at the end of year one, 2.6 at the end of year two, 2.7 at the end of year three, and 2.8 at the end of year four).  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $20,800.

Applications for admission are available online from the Stevenson University (SU) website. There is not a separate application to apply for this award. Each student will be automatically considered upon admission. There are four methods to apply for admission to SU: the SU online application; the SU paper application; and the Common Application. All methods are equally valid. The student should only apply via one method. The additional materials required besides the admissions application varies depending on whether the stuent is U.S. or international. Students are strongly encouraged to carefully the review the information on the SU website to be sure they are submitting the correct materials. Admissions applications should be submitted by February 1 full scholarship consideration.
