  1. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  2. Must be an undergraduate or graduate student.
  3. Must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.

Description: The Spiggle Law Firm's Young Women's Empowerment Scholarship is available for undergraduate and graduate students who submit an essay about their experiences empowering young women in their community.

Application requirements for the Young Women’s Empowerment Scholarship are:

Additional Information: Sponsored annually by the Spiggle Law Firm, the Young Women's Empowerment Scholarship is awarded to current college and university students who share an experience they had in working to fight against the barriers that seek to hold women back. Applicants must demonstrate high levels of academic achievement, work ethic, and community involvement, but the primary factor in award selection will be the essay submission. Judges will consider both the quality of the writing as well as the impact of the student's experiences in helping to work toward overcoming sexism and the unfair treatment women often receive in society.

Award Amount: $1,000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,000.

Information about the Young Women's Empowerment Scholarship can be found online using the provided links. To apply for this award, students must submit an original essay, a recently updated resume, and a copy of transcripts & contact information from their current college or university. Essays must be approximately 1,000 words in length and must describe how the applicant has worked to empower young women within their community.
