  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be 14 years of age or older to apply.
  3. Must be a legal U.S. resident.
  4. Must reside in the 50 United States or the District of Columbia.

Description: The Education Matters Scholarship is open to US students who are 14 years of age and older and who are currently enrolled (or enroll no later than fall of 2025) in an accredited postsecondary institution of higher education. One winner will receive a $5,000 scholarship.

Award Amount: $5,000 annually, non-renewable. The scholarship will be in the form of a check made payable to the accredited postsecondary institution of higher education attended by the recipient (once he/she has enrolled in an accredited postsecondary institution of higher education and submitted proof of enrollment to the sponsor). The scholarship prize recipient must submit proof of enrollment on or before Dec. 31, 2025.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $5,000.

Applications are available online. Applicants must also complete the Scholarship Match quiz/questionnaire at UNIGO to be eligible to compete for this scholarship. A complete application must include name and contact information, background details, academic details, and a short original, previously unpublished written response to the scholarship topic, "What would you say to someone who thinks education doesn't matter, or that college is a waste of time and money?" The student's written response must be written in English, with correct spelling and grammar, and it must not exceed 250 words. No substitutions of new drafts or corrected pages will be accepted once the student has submitted his/her original application. All applications become the property of the sponsor and will not be returned. The sponsor assumes no responsibility for lost, late, misdirected, or unintelligible entries. Applications must be submitted online by 11:59 pm Pacific Time on the deadline date. Limit one application per person.
