Number of Awards & Eligibility: The number of awards offered varies annually and is dependent on the amount of funding available.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for international students.
  2. Must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
  3. Must have a combined math and english SAT score of 1100 or higher.
  4. Must plan to enroll as a full-time student.
  5. Must be a graduating high school senior or transfer student to apply for this undergraduate award.
  6. Must plan to attend Northeastern University in Massachusetts.
  7. Must attend a college or university in Massachusetts.

Additional Information: The Ambassador Scholarship for International Students is awarded for outstanding academic achievement at the discretion of the international counselors in conjunction with the director of admissions and the vice president for enrollment management. This award is not based on financial need.

Award Amount: $10,000 to $28,000 annually.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $28,000.

Applications for admission are available online from the Northeastern University website. There is not a separate application for this award. All international students who apply for admission to Northeastern University and meet the eligibility requirements are considered for an award. In addition to the completed application, each student must submit two letters of recommendation from a teacher and guidance counselor, his/her official secondary school transcripts, SAT I or ACT scores, transcripts for college-level coursework, an activities resume, a list of the current high school and college courses he/she is taking and is planning to take before admission to the college, an I-20 form (if applicable), a 'Declaration of Finances Form', and the 'Affidavit of Support Form'. If the applicant's native language is not English, he/she must also submit TOEFL scores and certified English translations of all documents and transcripts. Although awards are given in both the fall and winter semesters, all applications and supporting materials should be submitted by the regular decision priority deadline date of Jan. 1.
