In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  2. This award is for U.S. students.
  3. Must be diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder.
  4. Must be enrolled in or planning to enroll in a vocational school, college, or university.

Description: The RJT Criminal Defense Autism Scholarship is available for U.S. citizens who have been diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder. Applicants must submit a personal statement of up to 125 words in length that sets forth his or her educational goals and also have the option to discuss the impact of autism on their education.

Application requirements for the RJT Autism Scholarship Program are:

  • Application form
  • Personal statement
  • Essay
Additional Information: Selected recipients may be asked to submit additional information such as proof of a medical diagnosis and enrollment in an accredited vocational school, college, or university.

Award Amount: $1,000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,000.

Applications and information about this award are available online at the RJT Criminal Defense website and may be accessed at the provided link. To be considered for this award, students must submit a personal statement of up to 125 words in length that sets forth his or her educational goals. Applicants may also choose to submit an optional essay of up to 800 words in length that discusses the impact autism has had on his or her education. All applications and writing submissions must be received through the online application form no later than the deadline date.
