Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen.
  3. Must be an incoming or current undergraduate student.
  4. Must reside in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont (Caledonia, Essex, and Orleans counties).
  5. Must seek a degree in engineering and demonstrate commitment to his/her chosen field of study.
  6. Must enroll on at least a half-time basis (six credit hours).

Description: This scholarship is available for undergraduate students who are residents of the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont (Caledonia, Essex, or Orleans counties). Students must seek a degree in engineering and demonstrate financial need.

Additional Information: The Vermont Student Assistance Corporation (VSAC) established this scholarship to honor the contributions that Chris Robbins made as a VSAC board member during his tenure from June 1991 through October 2010. Applicants must attend an accredited school approved for federal Title IV funding, and must demonstrate financial need. Selection is based on application documents and financial need. There are approximately 25 applicants for this award each year.

Award Amount: $2,000 annually, may be renewable for up to three additional years.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $8,000.

Applications are available from the Vermont Student Assistance Corporation (VSAC) website. Applications may be completed either online or in paper form beginning on November 1. Please note: The student is only required to submit one application for all scholarships for which he/she wishes to apply. In addition, if a particular document is required for more than one scholarship, the student need only submit one copy of that document. To apply, the student must complete and submit the VSAC Unified Scholarship Application and submit the following materials: a letter of recommendation; an essay; and official transcripts. NOTE: Required additional materials MUST conform to the detailed instructions in the VSAC Scholarships Booklet. The student is highly encouraged to review the booklet thoroughly when assembling materials. Electronic applications and any digital versions of supplemental materials must be submitted by midnight on the deadline date. Paper applications or any supplemental materials in paper form must be postmarked by the deadline date.
