Number of Awards & Eligibility: The number of awards offered annually may vary according to the number of eligible students. All eligible students will be considered.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  2. Must be a high school senior or current undergraduate student.
  3. Must be the dependent or spouse of a police officer or firefighter killed in the line of duty in Alabama.
  4. Must be enrolled in an undergraduate program at a public postsecondary educational institution in Alabama.
  5. Must be a resident of Alabama.
  6. This award is for U.S. students.

Additional Information: This award is available to Alabama resident students who are dependents or spouses of police officers or firefighters killed in the line of duty in Alabama. Students must be enrolled in an undergraduate program at a public postsecondary educational institution in Alabama. The Alabama Commission on Higher Education shall notify any student who does not meet the eligibility criteria. Payments for eligible students shall be forwarded to the financial aid office of the eligible institution.

Award Amount: This award covers tuition, fees, books, and supplies. There is no limit on the amount awarded to recipients. amount varies  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $7,000.
