Number of Awards & Eligibility: The total number of awards may vary annually depending on the number of qualified applicants and the total amount of funding available.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must reside in the Pacific Northwest (Washington, Oregon, or Idaho).
  2. Must be a high school senior or undergraduate student at the time of application.
  3. This award is for U.S. students as well as international students studying in the U.S.
  4. Must provide proof of cancer diagnosis.

Description: The Cancer for College Pacific Northwest Scholarship is available for high school seniors and undergraduate students in the U.S. who have been diagnosed with cancer. Applicants must reside in the Pacific Northwest (Washington, Oregon, or Idaho) and must demonstrate academic achievement & unmet financial need.

Additional Information: The Cancer for College Pacific Northwest Scholarship is provided annually to high school seniors and undergraduates in the PNW region who have been diagnosed with cancer. Selection of award recipients is based on all submitted information, with extra emphasis placed on academic accomplishments, demonstrated financial need, and the impact of medical costs and treatments compared to the student's fullest potential. Students who to remain enrolled full time or students who transfer from a four-year college or university to a two-year community college may face a suspension of funding. Students may also pause their scholarship for up to one year for verified medical reasons. Students who do not enroll again within the one-year period may re-apply and will be given top priority for new award disbursement. Cancer for College was founded in 1993 and seeks to provide hope, inspiration, and financial assistance to academically deserving and financially struggling students who have been diagnosed with cancer. All awards will be provided in furtherance of that goal.

Award Amount: Up to $5,000 annually. The typical award amount is $5,000 but may be reduced if the student has a lower amount of unmet financial need. Scholarships may be renewable for up to three additional years of undergraduate study.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $25,000.
