Number of Awards & Eligibility: The number of awards offered varies annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen.
  3. Must be an incoming transfer student.
  4. Must plan to attend Centenary University in New Jersey.
  5. Must enroll full time.
  6. Must have a cumulative college grade point average of 2.5 or higher.
  7. Must attend a college or university in New Jersey.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This scholarship is open to U.S. undergraduate students who are transferring to Centenary University in New Jersey. Students must have a grade point average of 2.5 or higher.

Application requirements for the Centenary University Merit Scholarship are:

Additional Information: High school grade point average or SAT/ACT scores may be required (to weight the college grade point average) for review of scholarships for students with less than 24 credits earned prior to transfer.

Award Amount: Up to $7,000 annually, renewable if the student maintains continuous full-time enrollment and meets the minimum standards for Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP).  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $18,000.

Scholarship information is available online on the Centenary University website. Admitted students are automatically reviewed for scholarship consideration during the admissions process. Students may apply for admissions via Centenary's online application or via the Common Application. In addition to a completed admissions application, the student must submit the following materials: official transcripts from all colleges attended, sent directly to Centenary; SAT/ACT scores, unless the student earned more than 24 credit hours at his/her prior institution(s) and/or is over 24 years of age; an essay of 250 words discussing "How Centenary Can Help You Achieve Your Educational Goals And Objectives"; and a $30 application fee or official fee waiver. Recommendations are not required, but are recommended. The early action deadline for submission of the admissions application is Nov. 1. After that, applications are accepted and reviewed on a rolling basis. Please note: Centenary University recommends that students submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by the priority deadline of April 1. The FAFSA is available online at www.fafsa.ed.gov, at high school guidance offices, and at college financial aid offices.
