Number of Awards & Eligibility: The number of awards varies annually, depending on the number of qualified applicants.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must plan to attend Clemson University.
  2. This award is for U.S. and international students.
  3. Must contribute to the racial, cultural, or geographic diversity of Clemson University.
  4. Must plan to attend a college or university in South Carolina.

Description: This scholarship is available for current high school seniors and undergraduate students who are applying to admission at Clemson University in South Carolina. To be considered for a Diversity Scholarship, applicants must add to the ethnic, cultural, geographic, or intellectual diversity of the campus.

Application requirements for the Clemson University Diversity Scholarships are:

  • Application form
  • $70 application fee for admission
  • Official SAT/ACT scores
Additional Information: Criteria used in selecting candidates for Clemson University Diversity Awards includes: academic achievement, such as high school grades, activities, and SAT/ACT scores; personal background, as demonstrated by race and ethnicity, gender and geographic origin; and interpersonal skills, as demonstrated by extracurricular activities, community service and work experience.

Award Amount: $500 to $6,000 annually, renewable for up to three additional years.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $18,000.

Information and applications for this award are available at the Clemson University website using the link provided. To be considered for this scholarship, students must apply for admission Clemson University. Applications must be completed online, and must be accompanied by a $70 application fee and official copies of SAT and/or ACT scores sent directly from the testing organization to Clemson. Current high school seniors applying for first-time freshman application must also submit a counselor information form to be completed by the student's high school guidance counselor. Upon admission to Clemson University, there is no additional scholarship application required to be considered for diversity scholarships. Eligible students will be notified upon admission. To receive maximum consideration for scholarships and financial aid, it is recommended that students begin the admissions process by Dec. 1 and complete all application steps before Dec. 31. Students must also file a FAFSA report on or before Jan. 2.
