Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for international and U.S. students.
  2. Must have a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
  3. Must enroll in or plan to enroll in an aircraft repair or avionics program.
  4. Must attend an accredited vocational/technical school located in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota or Wisconsin.
  5. Must be a high school senior or vocational/technical college student at time of application.

Description: This scholarship is available for international and U.S. undergraduate students who are enrolled in an avionics or aircraft repair program at an accredited vocational/technical school located in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota or Wisconsin. Students must have a grade point average of 2.5 or higher.

Additional Information: The David Arver Memorial Scholarship is given by Dutch and Ginger Arver in memory of their son, David. Scholarship winners will be announced in April. Scholarships will be disbursed in July. The student may apply for as many scholarships as he/she wishes; only one application is necessary to apply for multiple AEA scholarships. However, each student is only eligible to receive one scholarship per academic year.

Award Amount: $1,000 annually, non-renewable. Scholarship monies must be used to cover the cost of tuition, books, and/or tools only. They cannot be used for any type of flight training or air traffic control programs.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,000.

Applications are available on the Aircraft Electronics Association (AEA) website. In addition to the completed application, the student must submit the following: an official transcript; answers to the two questions listed on the application; and a typed 300-word essay describing which technological breakthrough of the last 20 years has had the greatest impact on aviation. The application and all supporting materials must be submitted online and received by the deadline date. Transcripts sent separately will not be accepted.
