Number of Awards & Eligibility: One or more awards offered annually. The number of awards offered is dependent on funds available.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a full-time student.
  3. Must be studying photographic science, imaging science or engineering.
  4. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  5. Must have completed two academic years of college before the term of the scholarship.

Description: This award is for U.S. students who will have completed two or more academic years of college before the term of the scholarship. Students must be enrolled full time in a photographic science, imaging science or engineering program.

Additional Information: The Raymond Davis Scholarship is granted by the society to a student or students of photographic or imaging science or engineering for use in continuing their studies as graduate or undergraduate students. This grant is made for academic study or research in the theory or practice of image formation by radient energy. This award was created in memory of Raymond Davis. For more information about his life, visit the society's website. Granting of the award is by approval of the board of directors of the Society for Imaging Science and Technology. The scholarship is awarded in May during the society's annual conference.

Award Amount: $1,000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,000.

Applications are available on the Society for Imaging Science and Technology website. In addition to a completed application, the applicant must also submit the following: letters of nomination from two or more faculty members, an official transcript of his/her college records, and a personal letter stating his/her goals and interests. Graduate Students must provide an abstract of your plan for advance study, research and thesis. The application and all supporting documents should be sent via postal mail to the Society for Imaging Science and Technology.
