Number of Awards & Eligibility: The number of awards offered varies annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
  3. Must be a resident of Idaho.
  4. Must have graduated from an accredited high school in Idaho or the equivalent.
  5. Must have a grade point average of 2.5 or higher in the previous two years of school at an accredited high school or postsecondary school.
  6. Must enroll as a full-time student.
  7. Must be enrolling in a baccalaureate degree program or lower.
  8. Must enroll in either a professional-technical degree leading to something less than a baccalaureate degree or a baccalaureate degree in secondary education in a professional-technical area.
  9. Must enroll at an accredited college or university in Idaho.

Description: This scholarship is open to students who reside in Idaho, graduated from an Idaho high school (or equivalent), and attend an Idaho college or university. Students must pursue either a professional-technical degree leading to something less than a baccalaureate degree or a baccalaureate degree in secondary education in a professional-technical area; students must have a grade point average of 2.5 or higher.

Additional Information: Financial need will only be considered in the case of a tie.

Award Amount: The award amount varies annually. Awards are generally non-renewable; however, after the initial year of the scholarship award, the recipient may apply for one additional scholarship during the recipient's professional-technical education as long as he/she is in good academic standing as defined by the institution attended; maintains a grade point average of 2.5 or higher; and is a full-time student.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $4,600.

Applications are available on the Idaho Community Foundation (ICF) website. Please note: The student may apply for all scholarships for which he/she is qualified; however, a separate application and supplemental materials must be submitted for each scholarship. In addition to a completed application, the student must submit the following materials: five one-page essays addressing the topics listed on the application; official transcript(s) and attendance reports for his/her previous two years of school; an essay of no more than 500 words identifying his/her reasons for wanting to pursue his/her chosen course of study; two letters of recommendation from individuals who are unrelated to him/her and who know his/her qualifications; a copy of his/her Student Aid Report (SAR), generated by filing the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid); and a portfolio of academic and technical achievement (optional). Applications must be submitted online by the deadline date.
