Number of Awards & Eligibility: The number of awards offered varies annually based on the number of qualified applicants and the amount of funding available.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be planning to transfer to Stevenson University in Maryland.
  3. Must plan to enroll as a full-time student.
  4. Must be a member of Phi Theta Kappa or another college honors society or program.
  5. Must be a current undergraduate student seeking his/her first bachelor's degree.
  6. Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
  7. Must attend a college or university in Maryland.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: U.S. students who are members of Phi Theta Kappa who plan to transfer to Stevenson University in Maryland are eligible for this award. Students must have completed 12 or more credit hours of college coursework.

Application requirements for the Stevenson University Honors Scholarship for Transfer Students are:

  • Official Transcript
  • Essay
  • Recommendation letters (2)
  • Application to SU
  • Proof PTK/honors membership
Additional Information: Members of Phi Theta Kappa or another college honors society or program may be considered for the Stevenson University Honors Scholarship for Transfer Students. Students must receive acceptance to a SU traditional bachelor degree program to be eligible for this award. Students in accelerated programs are not eligible.

Award Amount: $2,000 annually, renewable for up to three additional years.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $8,000.

Students are considered for this scholarship by applying for admission to Stevenson University (SU) as transfers. No separate scholarship application is required. Transfer admissions information is available on the SU website. The admissions application is available as either an online form or PDF download. In addition to a completed application for admission, the student must submit the following: proof of membership in Phi Theta Kappa or another college honors society (necessary for consideration for this scholarship); a $40 non-refundable application fee if applying via the paper application; an official transcript from each college attended (final transcripts of any in-progress coursework are also required); and an official high school transcript or GED if he/she has completed fewer than 30 credit hours of college coursework at time of application. The following items may be submitted with the application but are not required: standardized test scores; interview; resume; letters of recommendation; and an essay discussing academic history and career goals. The application for admission and all supporting materials should be submitted by the priority deadline dates of May 1 for fall admission. Applications submitted after these dates will be considered for scholarship funding on a funds-available basis only.
