Number of Awards & Eligibility: The number of awards offered varies annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  3. Must be a current college freshman or older to apply for this undergraduate award. The student must have completed 12 or more college credit hours.
  4. Must plan to tranfer to Western New England College in Massachusetts.
  5. Must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher. A composite college grade point average will be calculated if a student has attended more than one college.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: U.S. students who have completed 12 or more college credit hours and have a grade point average of 2.5 or higher are eligible for this award. Students must plan to transfer to Western New England College in Massachusetts.

Application requirements for the Western New England College Merit Transfer Scholarship are:

  • Application form
  • Personal statement
  • Official Transcript
  • SAT/ACT scores
Additional Information: Eligibility for the Merit Transfer Scholarships is normally based only on grades for college-level courses, usually referred to as 100-level (or higher) courses.

Award Amount: $10,000 annually for a student with a grade point average of 2.5 to 3.0. $13,000 annually for a recipient with a grade point average of 3.00-3.49 and $18,000 annually for a recipient with a grade point average of 3.5 or higher. All awards are renewable for up to three additional years.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $42,000.

Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, but the student is encouraged to apply by Dec. 1 for the spring or July 1 for the fall semester. No incomplete/late submissions will be accepted.
